SAINT CATHERINE OF SIENA [ Caterina Benincasa] was born in Siena, Italy. She was a tertiary of the Dominican Order. She dedicated much of her life to helping the ill and the poor, where she took care of them in hospitals or homes. She is the patron saint of nurses, people ridiculed for their piety, and sick people. Her feast day is April 29.
