ST JOSEPH
SAINT JOSEPH, also known as Joseph the betrothed,is known from the New Testament as the husband of Mary, mother of Jesus. He is the foster father of Jesus and the head of the Holy Family.
He was born in Bethlehem and worked as a carpenter [Matthew 13:55]. The solemnity of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Patron of the Universal Church is celebrated on March 19. However, his feast day as Joseph the worker is celebrated on May 1.
